Hermanus: The most photographed man in Walker Bay is the local whale crier. As there is not another whale crier in the world, he is somewhat of a celebrity. A crier has patrolled these shores, from June to December, since 1992, blowing his kelp horn to alert everyone to the whereabouts of whales. He blows Morse code-type signals which are explained on the board that he wears.
